Clever DNA tricks

By adulthood, that single cell has turned into roughly 37 trillion cells, many of which keep dividing to create the same amount of fresh human cells every few months. But those cells have a formidable challenge. The average dividing cell must copy—perfectly—3.2 billion base pairs of DNA, about once every 24 hours. The cell’s replication machinery does an amazing job of this, copying genetic material at a lickety-split pace of some 50 base pairs per second. Still, that’s much too slow to duplicate the entirety of the human genome.

The new “stylish, story-driven” adventure-stroke-dating game Thirsty Suitors has a release date: 2nd November. Described as a “game about culture, relationships, family pressures, and expressing oneself”, Thirsty Suitors sees you help Jala “handle her demanding parents, reconcile with her exes, and mend broken friendships in time for her sister’s wedding”. “Can Jala learn to love herself and heal the wounds of her past?” the video description teases, before giving us a two-minute peek at Jala’s hectic world and family life, reminding some in the comments of Edgar Wright’s film adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Goldman may be trying to bail on Apple Card

Four years after partnering with Apple on the launch of the Apple Card, Goldman Sachs may be eyeing the exits. The Wall Street Journal reports that Goldman is “looking for a way out” of its high-profile deal with Apple, which recently expanded to include savings accounts for Apple Card holders.  The investment banking firm is apparently in talks to offload the partnership to American Express, the WSJ report added, but so far nothing seems to be set in stone, nor is it clear if Apple would support the handoff. Razer Launches New Gaming Mice, Wireless Cobra Pro And Budget-Friendly Cobra

Gaming peripheral company Razer has launched a new line of gaming mice with the Cobra Pro, a premium-style wireless mouse, and the Cobra, a more basic wired version that uses the same overall design. They’re now available on the Razer Store and on Amazon and retail for $130 USD and $40 USD, respectively. The Cobra now sits alongside Razer’s already-wide roster of gaming mice such as the Deathadder, Viper, and Basilisk.
